Zubedia-The real princess

Zubeida Begum Dhanrajgir was an Indian movie actress, who was the First Talkie Actress of India, as she enacted in first Indian talkie Alam Ara released in 1931.Her credits involve early hits like Devdas released in 1937, and played the lead role in Sagar Movietone's first talkie, Meri Jaan.
ZubediaZubeida was one of Indian cinema's earliest super actress and among the few ladies who entered movies at a time when it wasn't aknowledged an appropriate profession for girls from respectable parivaars. Born in Surat, Zubeida was a sizzling beautiful princess, the daughter of the Nawab of Sachin and Fatima Begum.

In 1925, Zubeida had nine releases including Kala Chor, Devdasi, Desh Ka Dushman respectively. A year later she featured in her mother's movie, titled Bulbul-e-Parista. In the year 1927, she acted in films like Laila Majnu, Nanand Bhojai, and Naval Gandhi 's Sacrifice which were very successful films at this time.

Zubeida starred in a bunch of silent movies too before India's first talkie 'Alam Ara’ proved to be the turning point in her acting career and was her biggest success at the box office. In 1934 she set up Mahalakshmi Movietone with Nanubhai Vakil and had another couple of box-office hits in 'Gul-e-Sonobar' and 'Rasik-e-Laila'. The actress continued to feature in one or two flicks a year till 1949. 'Nirdosh Abla' was her last movie.

The Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez

Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress and model, at the moment she’s been working in Bollywood movies. Jacqueline is a former beauty queen who won the Miss Sri Lanka Universe tag in the year 2006. She has bagged an International Indian Film Academy Award and Stardust Award for Best Female Debut in 2010 for her character in the Indian movie Aladin. Born in Colombo, Western Province Fernandez comes from a Sinhalese parivaar in Sri Lanka. At the age of three her entire family moved to Bahrain.In Bahrain, the actress studied at the Sacred Heart School.
Jacqueline FernandezAfter graduating from the Murrey University in Melbourne, Australia with a degree for mass media studies and chose modelling as her profession, and have worked with a number of fashion designers in Australia, Singapore, Dubai and Sri Lanka as reported.In March 2006, Jacqueline was tagged as the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006. Jacqueline Fernandez made her acting debut in the 2009 Bollywood fantasy film Aladin directed by Sujoy Gosh alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and Ritesh Deshmukh.

The year 2010 saw her once again featuring alongside Ritesh Deshmukh again in the romantic comedy Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai and she also had a cameo appearance in Sajid Khan's Housefull in a song which became a big victory. The flick featured Akshay Kumar in the lead character while actresses Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Jiah Khan, actors Ritesh Deshmukh and Arjun Rampal featured in supporting roles. Jacqueline Fernandez has one project set to release in 2011; Murder 2 while Housefull 2 is scheduled to release next year in 2012. Raaz 3 is the thriller genre movie pairing up Jacqueline Fernandez and Emraan Hashmi. Directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, the movie will be shot in 2012.

The Marathi Queen Bhagyashree

Bhagyashree belongs to the family of Patwardhans from Sangli town in Maharashtra. Her father is Maharaja of Sangli. Bhagyashree Patwardhan was born on 23 February 1969 and she has acted in Bollywood films as well as for small screen.The actress started her career in acting with Kachhi Dhoop which was a television series directed by veteran actor Amol Palekar. The serial was based on Louisa Mary Alcott’s Little Women.

Bokadia's Tyagi and Mahendra Shah's Payal all opposite her husband Himalaya.After a break of several years, the gorgeous diva made a comeback to television with Aandhi Jasbaton Ki, where she enacted the role of a politician. She was also showcased in Didi Ka Dulha, which was a comedy serial on national broadcaster Doordarshan and a telefilm where she enacts a blind person.

She made her debut in Marathi films starting off with the romantic comedy like Zhak Marli Baiko Keli in June 2009. Bhagyashree is the promoter of a media company Shrishti Entertainment with her husband. Maine Pyar Kiya, Qaid Mein Hai Bulbul, Tyaagi, Paayal, Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi, Maa Santoshi Maa, Hello Girls, etc. are some of the films that featured Bhagyashree in the lead roles.

Farida Jalal, the Bollywood actress who hails from New Delhi, was born on March 14, 1949 started her career in the 1960’s, when she won the United Film Producers Talent Hunt which was organized by Filmfare. Farida usually played the sister or rejected fiancee of the male stars, but she was never offered to play the main lead in of the films. One of her most critically commended character is in Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia starrer Bobby where she enacted the role of the mentally challenged would-be fiancee of Rishi Kapoor. The vivacious Tina Munim

Tina Munim was born on 11 February 1957 and is an Indian movie actress who had a successful Bollywood career during the late 1970’s and early 80’s. The actress is married to big shot Anil Ambani. She is also indulaged in a number of benevolent and charity activities and is presently running an NGO and a hospital. Tina was found by actor Dev Anand. Tina desired to become a Paris-trained couturier and was poised to go there for her studies in design when approached with a cinematic offer.

Tina MunimIn 1978, Dev Anand cast her in his movie Des Pardes, which launched her movie career. He would again cast her in numerous other movies with him in the lead character, such as Lootmaar and Man Pasand.Late actor Sunil Dutt launched his son Sanjay Dutt in his movie debut Rocky. Tina was chosen as Sanjay's actress. Tina Munim was spotted in Fiffty Fiffty, Souten, Bewafai, Suraag, Insaaf Main Karoonga and Adhikar and movies where she was not heroine of Rajesh like Rajput, Akhir Kyun and Paapi Pet Ka Sawaal Hai.

Apart from Dev Anand and Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim also made a popular screen team with cute star Rishi Kapoor, since they were paired romantically in six flicks, the most famous being Subhash Ghai's Karz. Producer-director-star Rakesh Roshan also cast her many times, including for the movie Aakhir Kyon? and Aap Ke Deewane respctively. Filmmaker Basu Chatterjee time after time cast her in his movies like Baaton Baaton Mein and Man Pasand. In the year 1987, Tina Munim made the cognizant decision to put her Bollywood career on hold and she moved to California and attended college.

Ayesha Jhulka

Ayesha Jhulka was born on 28 July 1975 in Srinagar, Kashmir, India. She is a bollywood actress. During her acting career, she has worked with big bollywood actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan and many others.The actress made her debut in Bollywood industry in the year 1991 with Kurbaan opposite Salman Khan, which became a successful hit at the box office.

Ayesha Jhulka She got two popular hits in 1992, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander with co-star Aamir Khan and Khiladi with the action God Akshay Kumar. In 1993 movies like Dalaal and Rang were hits too. Even though Dalaal was a hit at the box office, Ayesha was having problems with its maker, Ayesha filed complaints with the Cine Artistes Association and the Film Producers Association. Out of the three controversial scenes, two were afterwards deleted from the film. But it made the actress depressed as she always played the gals next door kind of characters.In 1993, the diva was part of two more standard successes like Waqt Hamara Hai and Meherbaan.

Rumours of having an affair with Akshay Kumar was also aired at that time. She was ready to get married to Armaan Kohli and decided to leave movies after her bad experience with Dalaal. She completed all her commitments, but her relationship with Armaan came to an end.After a gap, she again joined the race and in 1996, with hit Masoom she revived her mark in the film industry. Her other movies with Mithun called Suraj did quite well in audiences, but it did not help her much. Ayesha also did Vishwavidhata and Ghoonghat.

In both the films, she was having roles with essence, but both flicks bombed at the box office. In Chachi 420, she was seen in a cameo role even though movie did well and also received positive reviews. While continuing her acting career, she got married to construction tycoon Sameer Vashi. She played supporting but significant roles in Run, Socha Na Tha and Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan starrer Umrao Jaan.

The all-rounder actress Madhavi

The South Indian actress Madhavi has played the female lead character for seventeen years in seven languages like Hindi, Malyalam, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Oriya and Kannada. The actress has acted in more than three hundred movies and was quiet popular among Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi movies. Madhavi learnt classical dance, Bharat Natyam from Uma Maheshwari and folk dances from Mr. Bhatt at an early stage.Now after taking retirement from movies, she has somehow declared that she still feels the urge to act when she watches good films.
MadhaviFilmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao gave her a leading role to play in the Telugu movie titled “Thoorupu Padamara”. The movie became a huge hit too. K. Balachander then cast her in a supporting character in his Telugu movie Maro Charithrawhich was released in 1978.Madhavi also worked in the Hindi remake of Ek Duje Ke Liye released in 1981, which became the top grossing movie of that year and the movie also starred Sridevi and Kamal Hasan in the lead roles.

She bagged a Filmfare Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress. The actress also featured opposite superstar Amitabh Bachchan in the 1990 Hindi movie Agneepath.She acted in a number of Kannada movies alongside popular Kannada actors like Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Anant Nag and Ambareesh. Yesteryears bollywood actress Sadhana

The famous Bollywood actress Sadhana Shivdasani was born in 1941. When she was fifteen years old, she caught a gaze of some producers who had seen her performing in a college play. They cast her in India's first Sindhi movie named Abana which was released in 1958, where she played the heroine's younger sister for which she was paid a token of rupees one. A photograph of her publicizing the movie appeared in a film magazine. Subodh Mukherjee, one of India's yesteryears producers, saw the magazine and roped her in her first 1959 Hindi movie LoveIn Simla, opposite his newcomer son, Joy Mukherjee.

Sadhana
The movie was directed by another newcomer, R.K. Nayyar, who created her trademark look called the Sadhana trimming.In 1955, the actress was seen as a chorus girl in Raj Kapoor's Shree420. Her other flicks included Mere Mehboob, a 1963 release and "Woh Kaun Thi?" for which she received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actress. Raj Khosla roped in Sadhana in two more mystery projects, MeraSaaya, Waqt and Anita.

Mera Saaya was released in the year 1966. The movie showcased Sunil Dutt and Sadhana in the lead roles. K. N. Singh and Prem Chopra played supporting characters. Madan Mohan composed the music for the film and Raja Mehdi Ali Khan wrote down the lyrics for all songs.The honorable actress later featured in Inteqaam, Ek Phool Do Mali, and Geeta Mera Naam, which she also directed. Her other noted movies were Hum Dono, Picnic, Dulha Dulhan, Arzoo, Mehfil, and so on.

Mamta Kulkarni

Mamta Kulkarni is a former Bollywood heroine. During the 1990’s, she was part of several commercial hits like Karan Arjun, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Aashiq Awara and Krantiveer. MamtaKulkarni made her debut through the Tamil movie titled Nanbargal which was released in Hindi as Mera Dil Tere Liye directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar. She made her Bollywood debut in 1992 film Tirangaa. Than in 1993 she featured in Aashiq Awara, which wbagged her a Filmfare Lux New Face Award too. She went to appear in many other famous films like Waqt Hamara Hai, Ghatak: Lethal, Beqabu, Baazi, Gangstar, Chupa Rustam, Qila, Andolan, and many more.
Mamta Kulkarni Mamta was approached for many other movies with Ajay Devgan, Bobby Deol, Shahrukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, but she kept on rejecting big projects like Agnaary, Mr and Mrs Khiladi, Bandahan, Aunty No 1, Aflatoon and Shikary because of the money matters.Rajkumar Santoshi, later roped her in China Gate. The only song in the film, Chamma Chamma, performed by Urmila Matondkar, rocked the box office. In 1997, the actress was paid a large amount to perform at a private function by a legislator from Bihar, who was later arrested after investigations into the Fodde Scam case. She was interrogated too.

Waheeda Rehman

Waheeda Rehman, famous Bollywood actress who still appears in Bollywood pictures, has most remarkable ones like C.I.D. and Guru Dutt classics like Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, etc. to her credit. Waheeda Rehman was found by Guru Dutt in a movie and was asked to come over to Mumbai. Kaagaz Ke Phool is a story of a successful filmmaker's downfall after he falls in love with the main lead. Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman were featured together in Chaudhvin Ka Chand. She completed Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam under some pressure.Soon Guru Dutt and Waheeda called off their relationship after the movie’s dull reception at the Berlin Film Festival in 1963. Waheeda Rehman was cast as "Gulabi" in Satyajit Ray's Bengali movie Abhijan in 1962.

The actress’s career prolonged throughout the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s respectively. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her characters she played in Guide and Neel Kamal . She had also won National award for her performance in Reshma Aur Shera, some of the flicks bombed at the box office. Since her presence in the film Lamhe she took retirement from the film industry for almost 12 long years. On 21 November 2000, her husband died following a prolonged illness. In recent years the actress made a comeback enacting elderly mother and grandmother roles in Om Jai Jagadish, Water and the most memorable movie Rang De Basanti and Delhi6 which were all critically praised.

Ameesha Patel

Ameesha Patel the famous Bollywood figure features chiefly in Bollywood films. Making her acting debut with Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai opposite Hrithik Roshan, the actress bagged critical acclaim for her acting skills in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha opposite superstar Sunny Deol, and soon the film became one of the biggest hits in the era of Hindi cinema,bagging her a Filmfare Special Performance Award. The actress would consequently showcased in various flicks, most of which proved dud at the box office.

Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage were average box office success. Satish Kaushik's thriller film Vaada, featured Ameesha portraying the character of Arjun Rampal's disloyal wife. Elaan, showcased her as a TV reporter. She was also seen in Ketan Mehta's historical drama Mangal Pandey: The Rising. 2006 releases Mere Jeevan Saathi, Teesri Aankh: The Hidden Camera, Tathastu, Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai, etc were all big flops. 2011 projects Power, Run Bhola Run and Chatur Singh two Star featured the diva.

Praveen Babi

Parveen Babi was a famous Bollywood artiste, who is chiefly known to the whole world for her enchanting characters together with top listed male actors of the 1970’s and early 1980’s in smash hits like Deewar, Namak Halaal, Amar Akbar Anthony and Shaan. The actress never married but was involved in relationships with famous personalities like filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Bollywood star Kabir Bedi, and Danny Denzongpatoo. It was also believed that the beautiful diva had a strong love affair with Amitabh Bachchan.

Mahesh Bhatt penned and directed the 1982 successful hit film Arth , that was considered as a semi-autobiographical venture about his personal relationship with Praveen, and again he wrote as well as produced the 2006 released WohLamhewhich was madeon real facts about his relationship with the actress. Parveen Babi started her line of business in modelling in 1972 and was immediately followed by her debut with the movie Charitra which was released in 1973 opposite cricketer Salim Durrani.

The movie was a ringing flop but Parveen Babiwas admired and was signed up for many more Bollywood projects. Her foremost successful hit was 1974 Majboor opposite Amitabh Bachchan. Praveen was the first Bollywood babe to have been showcased on TIME magazine's cover page, in July 1976, much to the unrest of her colleagues. She had also appeared in Kaalia, Khud-daar, Suhaag, Kaala Patthar, Meri Aawaaz Suno and The Burning Train. She too featured in innovative movies like Vinod Pande's Yeh Nazdeekiyan which got released in 1982. In the film she portrayed the character of the other lady opposite Marc Zuber.

Praveen known for her sublime acting skills was found dead in her Mumbai residence on 22nd January 2005 after the residential society secretary stated the police that she had not collected milk and newspapers from her house for three days. It was assumed that the actress was suffering from gangrene of the foot as she was diabetic. The police ruled out any foul play and it was determined she had died from what appeared to be complications from diabetes.

Farah Naaz

Farah Naaz was a well known face in Bollywood. Her most memorable movies were Hamara Khandaan, Naqab, Yateem and Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri. Farah took retirement from acting in 1990. She worked with almost all of the top listed stars of her times namely Rajesh Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Mithun, Govinda, and Aamir Khan. Farah made her debut in the year 1985 with Yash Chopra's Faasle opposite Rohan Kapoor.

She was part of hits movies like Marte Dam Tak, Naseeb Apna Apna, Love 86, Imaandaar, Ghar Ghar Ki Kahaani, Diljala, Rakhwala, Hamara Khandaan, Woh Phir Ayegi, Veeru Dada, Baap Ek Numbari Beta Dus Numbari and Muqabla and so on. In the 1990s, Farah Naaz worked with Aamir Khan in two films, Jawani Jindabad and Isi Ka Naam Zindagi, but both the films badly failed at box office. She was also approached for Khuda Gawah but because of delays in production, she was later on replaced with Shilpa Shirodkar. Farah Naaz then started portraying supporting characters in movies like Muqabla, Dhartiputra and Izzat Ki Roti. The actress after sometime appeared on small screen and did some daily soaps like Amar Prem, Andaz, Ahaa, Vailayiti Babu and Papa.

Smita Patil

Making a mark for herself in Bollywood industry with the release of 1977 flick Bhumika actress Smita Patil acted in number of Bollywood films and also contributed in television and theatre. Smita Patil featured in almost seventy five Hindi and Marathi movies and also bagged National Film Awards and Filmfare Award and she was the receiver of the Padma Shri India's fourth-highest civilian honour in 1985. Smita played most remarkable roles in movies like Manthan, Bhumika, Aakrosh, Chakra and Mirch Masala. Apart from acting, the Bollywood known figure was a member of the Women's Centre situated in Mumbai. Smita Patil was always ready to help women in every possible way.

Smita Patil was married to Bollywood famous star Raj Babbar. Unfortunately, the actress died on 13 December 1986 at the age of 31. It has been revealed that the successful actress was more related to small cinema for about five years. She had also truned down all commercial offers. Somewhere in 1977 and 1978, the small cinema era began approaching many stars. She was abruptly removed from a couple of ventures. This was a understated matter but anyhow affected the actress. She even tried to keep her cool. The day she turned down big, commercial offers because of her contract to small cinema, since then the actress got less amount of offers from Bollywood. Also named as tidal wave, the actress had to suffer a lot of controversies as she was linked up with many Bollywood celebrities.


Keerthi Reddy

Keerthi Reddy is not so popular Bollywood actress but she is famous for her Telugu movies. This Indian actress was born on November 17 in the year 1978. She is also a Tamil as well as Telugu actress. Some of the Bollywood movies done by her are Badhai Ho Badhai, Sanam Tere Hain Hum, Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat etc. She has also worked with Abhishek Bachchan.

Keerthi Reddy
Keerthi ‘s father is an interior designer while her mother is a dress designer. Her grandfather Ganga Reddy was a Member of parliament from Dichpalii in Andhra Pradesh. Keerthi’ s childhood was spent in Bangalore. She studied from The Valley School which lies near Bangalore.

The actress has gone through the training of Bharatnatyam for around eight years. She also attended the St. Joseph Public School which is in Hyderabad. Later on she moved to Ryerson University for her higher studies in Toronto, Canada and Baltimore, U.S. The very first movie of Kirthi was Gunshot which was directed by SV Krishna and that was a superb flop flick. The only hit movie of Kirthi’s career was Tholi Prema. She did that movie with Pawan kalyan. She also worked in Vaali and Sethu.

Sadhna is a famous bollywood actress, was born on 2 September 1941 in Karachi. She is the only child, because of many problem in the country her mother taught her till eight year at home only then they shifted to Mumbai. Sadha wants to make her career in acting and she gith the support from her father to get enter in acting. She started her career in chorus in Raj Kapoor's film Shree 420. She did one sindhi film Abana, from which she get the admission in acting school.Her first debut movie was Love in Shimla directed by R.K.Nayyar in the 1960, during the making of the film she fall in love with the director and they got married in 1965.

After that she has done many movie and given may hits also like Mehboob with Rajendra Kumar, Woh Kaun Thi? for this movie she has nominated as Filmfare Best Actress Award. For the movie Mere Saaya and Anita she has received second Filmfare Best Actress Award., and she was the best actress at that time.

She married with R.K. Nayyar in 1965 and live happy married life, when she left acting she get indulge in many social projects and with friends too.

Miss Universe- Neha Dupia

Femina Miss Universe Neha Dhupia was born in Sikh family. Her father was a Commander in Indian Navy, she has done her schooling from Naval school because of transfer job. After that she has completed her graduation from Delhi University in History (Hons). She has started her career from modelling and music videos, she has done many modelling campaigns for famous brands. Bindu born on January 17, 1951 is a Bollywood actress who gave popular performances during 1970's, 80's and 90's.

She first landed in Bollywood with a role in "Anpadh" starring Dharamendra and Mala Sinha directed by Raj Khosla. In the movie,she played a young graduate though in real life, she was only 11 years old.

She climed the ladders of success with the movie "Kati Patang" directed by Shakti Samanta where she appeared in the song "Mera Naam Shabnam" as a Cabaret Dancer. The song is still popular with the audiences. Bindu from then on, mostly took negative roles and became popular as a Vamp along with Helen and Aruna Irani.


Bindu had everything that a sex symbol in Bollywood should possess.She was beautiful,fair skinned and carried herself with good poise.However despite having everything she could not bag lead roles in the films.

Esha Deol, born on November 2, 1981, is daughter of 'Dream Girl' Hema Malini and 'He Man' Dharmendra. She has a sister named Aahan. Esha is step sister of Bollywood star Sunny and Bobby Deol. Esha Deol is an accomplished classical dancer and National level Football player. Esha studied in the Jamnabai Narsee School, excelled at football, then went on to attend Oxford University and obtained a Masters Degree in Media Arts and Computer Technology. KIRON KHER

Born on June 14, 1955, the actress has her roots in theatre. Kiron Kher, the wife of Anupam Kher, actually, began her career as a television host before moving on to Hindi films. Her first film was a Punjabi one, Aasra Pyar Da, made in 1983. Then came her first major role in Shyam Benegal's Sardari Begum, where she played the main role of the singer.

EARLY LIFE:

Kirron Kher was born in Mumbai to Jatt Sikh parents, and brought up in Chandigarh, Punjab, where she did her schooling and later college from Panjab University, Chandigarh. At school she was an avid Badminton player along with her sister, Arjuna awardee Kanwal Thakar Singh, their mother Diljit Singh was also active in sports and dramatics in in her college days in pre-partition Punjab. Kirron also had a brother, painter Amardeep Singh, who passed away in 2003.

In 2000, she appeared in film director, Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film Bariwali 1999, to critical acclaim. Though when she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for the film.

Her first marriage was with actor and businessman, Gautam Berry, with whom she has a son, actor Sikander Kher, before they divorced in 1985. She then married actor Anupam Kher, who she first met at Department of Indian Theatre in Chandigarh in 1974, which had Balwant Gargi has its head, though after which Anupam Kher went to Delhi and joined National School of Drama (NSD), while Kirron went to Bombay and got married to her first husband, subsequently they met while working together in a play called Chanadpuri Ki Champabai, and married in 1985, now they together run a production house.

In 2002, she appeared in Devdas (2002) alongside Shahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai, and was nominated for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award.

It was followed by Darmiyaan (1997) also made in the same year. In between the years, 1988 to 1996, she decided to concentrate on bringing up her son, Sikander, and stayed away from films.

But after the sabbatical, she came back with a bang with films like Rituparno Ghosh's Bariwali, which won her a National Award for Best Actress. In 2003, she won an international award at the Locarno Film Festival for her role in the Pakistani film Khamosh Paani. She followed it with a fiery performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas for which she won a best supporting actress award from Filmfare.

Kiron has also won accolades for her many successful portrayals of mother and wife in innumberable films like Main Hoon Na (2004), Hum Tum (2004), Veer-Zaara (2004). Rang De Basanti, Fanaa (2006), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Om Shanti Om (2007), Saas Bahu Aur Sensex and Singh Is Kinng (2008). Besides her flair for histrionics, the actress is also known to have a mindboggling collection of sarees and generally wears her own saris in films.

In 2003, she changed her name from "Kiron" to "Kirron" due to beliefs in numerology.

She has been casted in 24 films, as a costume designer in 1 film and special appearance in 1 film.
