Bindu


Bindu born on January 17, 1951 is a Bollywood actress who gave popular performances during 1970's, 80's and 90's.

She first landed in Bollywood with a role in "Anpadh" starring Dharamendra and Mala Sinha directed by Raj Khosla. In the movie,she played a young graduate though in real life, she was only 11 years old.

She climed the ladders of success with the movie "Kati Patang" directed by Shakti Samanta where she appeared in the song "Mera Naam Shabnam" as a Cabaret Dancer. The song is still popular with the audiences. Bindu from then on, mostly took negative roles and became popular as a Vamp along with Helen and Aruna Irani.


Bindu had everything that a sex symbol in Bollywood should possess.She was beautiful,fair skinned and carried herself with good poise.However despite having everything she could not bag lead roles in the films.

After Kati Patang,came her roles in movies like Ittefaq in the year 1969 and Imtihaan in 1974 where she played a seductress.The movie Hawas(1974) where she played a nymphomaniac left the audience in awe of her. Bindu proved that an actress can have a tag of being a sex symbol despite her marital status.

But being sexy was not the only thing that she could do. Her roles in "Arjun Pandit" and "Abhimaan"(1973) showed the industry she can act too. In the movie "Chaitali",she was as convincing as the lead character of a crippled woman Chaitali.

Lisa Ray was born on April 4, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Lisa ray the former fashion diva and Indian actress first appeared in an advertisement for Bombay Dyeing wearing a high-cut black swimsuit opposite Karan Kapoor.

Featured in the Canadian edition of Hello magazine as one of the '50 Most Beautiful People' of the country the actress is suffering from incurable cancer. But the actress knows how to move on and has given her nod to a film based on Charles Sobhraj Lisa Raybiopic, opposite Sanjay Dutt.

Anju Mahendru

Anju Mahendru the bollywood actress was born on January 11, 1946. The talented star was discovered by poet and lyricist Kaifi Azmi and was a popular starlet during the 60's and 70's. Although Anju Mahendru didn't made it as a leading lady and moved to character roles. She acted only in few films during the 80's and 90's.

Vidya Sinha Biography

Vidya Sinha is an Indian actress born on November 15, 1947. She hailed from a humble family of Mumbai. Her father, S. Maan Singh was an assistant director. She began modelling at an early age of 18 and debuted opposite Kiran Kumar in Raja Kaka.

However, fame came to her through a low-budget, alternative cinema break-away hit Rajnigandha, directed by her mentor Basu Chatterjee. The movie, although having none of the trappings of a typical Bollywood blockbuster, was a major box office success. This was followed by many more small-budget art-house films like Choti Si Baat (1975), and later by more mainstream, bigger budget Bollywood productions like Pati Patni Aur Woh (1977).

She was married before entering films. She later quit the industry in the eighties. During this time, she raised her daughter, Janhavi .After her husband Venkateshwaran Iyer (1968-1996) died, she returned to acting, on her daughter's encouragement. She returned to acting via working in TV serials like Bahu Rani (2000), followed by Kavyanjali (2004), Hum do hain na etc.

She had married second time to a Netaji Salunkhe, a doctor based in Australia. She had met him on the internet after her first husband's death in 1996. They have been living together in Versova, India. In January 2009, she filed a complaint against her 70-year old husband, claiming that he tortured her.

She is currently seen on prime time soaps like Zaara and Bhabhi.

Shamita Shetty Biography

Shamita Shetty born on February 2, 1980 is an Indian actress. She is the younger and pretty sister of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

Shamita is the second and youngest daughter of Surendra and Sunanda Shetty. She was born in a traditional close-knit family that hails from the Bunt community of Mangalore. Her parents are manufacturers of tamper-proof caps for the pharmaceutical industry and her native language is Tulu. Shamita Shetty attended St Anthony's Girls High School in Chembur, Mumbai. She graduated from Sydenham College.

Shetty made her debut in 2000 with the Yash Raj Films blockbuster Mohabbatein, which was directed by Aditya Chopra. Since Mohabbatein, she mostly found success in item numbers, including "Sharara Sharara" in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2001) and "Chori Pe Chori" in Saathiya

Hema Malini's Biography


Hema Malini was born on October 16, 1948. Hema is an Indian actress, director and producer, as well as a Bharatanatyam dancer-choreographer. Making her acting debut in Sapno Ka Saudagar (1968), she went on to appear in numerous successful Bollywood films, most notably those with actor and future-husband Dharmendra.
Hema Malini was initially promoted as "Dream Girl", and in 1977 starred in a film of the same name. Hema is a member of India's Bharatiya Janata Party and represents the party in Rajya Sabha, the upper House of parliament. She now spends most of her time involved in charitable and social ventures, though she still makes occasional appearances in films.

Hema Malini debuted in a 1968 film Sapnon Ka Saudagar, playing a young teen opposite the ageing superstar Raj Kapoor. With Dev Anand in Johnny Mera Naam (1970), Hema became a top star. She worked with Dev Anand again in Tere Mere Sapne (1971), among other films, with the latest being Aman Ke Farishtey (2003).

Hema also played double-roled in 1972s Seeta Aur Geeta as the top female star in Bollywood. She became one of the reigning divas of the Bollywood film industry, and her fans called her The Dream Girl of Bollywood

Hema starred in many movies throughout the 70s and 80s and is remembered for her glamour, style, and accomplished classical dancing. She formed a hit pair with Dharmendra, and the duo performed a number of hit movies like Sholay, Charas, Aas Paas, Jugnu, Seeta Aur Geeta, The Burning Train. First big break of the actress was Seema, for which she won a Filmfare Award. She followed her success with a romantic comedy, Paying Guest, in which she co-starred with Dev Anand.

In 1959 Nutan starred in two hit films, Anari (with Raj Kapoor) and Bimal Roy's Sujata (with Sunil Dutt). In the 1960s and 1970s she had many more successful films including Chhalia (1960), Bandini (1963), Saraswatichandra (1968), Devi (1970) and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978).

In the 1980s she played elderly mother roles in blockbuster films such as Meri Jung (1985), Naam (1986) and Karma (1986). Karma was notable for being the first time she was paired with actor Dilip Kumar. For Mere Jung she won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Her last film released while she was alive was Kanoon Apna Apna in 1989. She died in 1991 of cancer. Two of her films Naseebwala (1992) and Insaniyat (1994) were released after her death.

Bhumika Chawla tied the nuptial knot with her long time friend Bharat Thakur (Yoga guru) on 9th December 2007. The marriage was performed in a simple ceremony attended by close relatives and friends of Chawla and Thakur.

She is currently taking a hiatus from her film career.
