Anne Hatahaway - Big step to get Oscar

Anne Hathaway was named Best Actress today by the National Board of Review for Hathaway' indie turn in Rachel Getting Married.


The win came days after Anne notched an Independent Spirit nomination.

Yeah... Hathaway is starting off awards season right.

Anne Hathaway - Michelle Williams Pass 1st test of Oscar-Season

Anne Hathaway, James Franco & Michelle Williams, their tickets to Oscar season have been punched.

All actors were front and center as nominations were announced today for the Independent Spirit Awards, the movie-award calendar's first major test.

Brokeback Mountain costars Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams are up for Best Female Lead for dressing down in the art-house hit Rachel Getting Married and the upcoming Wendy and Lucy, respectively.

Franco is a Supporting Male contender for playing Harvey Milk's longtime boyfriend in the biopic Milk.

Winners are to be announced Feb. 21, the day before the 81st Annual Academy Awards.
