Some of the famous dances of the actress were Reshmi ujala hai from the film Sharmilee that got released in 1971, Naach meri jaan phataphat-Main Sundar hoon which was also released in 1971, and Sultana Sultana from a 1979 flick Tarana. She has played lead roles in Marathi films as well.It is reported that Jayashree performed dances in more than 100 films in the 1970s and early 1980s. Some of her notable movies include Raaz that came in 1967, a 1970 film Chanda aur bijlee, Jaani Dushman that was released in 1979, Shoukeen that came in1982, Andar Bahar (1985), Ghar Ghar ki kahani (1988) and Ghar ho to aisa (1990).
The actress has even received a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award Nomination for her performance in "Resham Ki Dori" in 1974 but lost it to veteran actress Durga Khote.
